Kindergarten Student Progress_Spring 2010:
Alana Smith
March 7, 2010
Alana has blossomed in our class this year. She now readily engages in conversation with confidence. She often seeks conversations with her teachers and asks questions out of curiousity. Her favorite job in our class is feeding the toads.
Alana has started reading phonetically and has read five books in the Modern Curriculum Press Series. She knows the following sight words: have, to, a, that, and, we, I, my, is and the. We have heard improvement in his speech, yet still think that Alana would benefit from a further evaluation for Speech Therapy. Alana’s writing skills continue to expand as she learns to write phonetically, using spacing techniques and punctuation.
Alana has made progress in math. In a recent assessment, she counted to 39 and she can count to 100 by 10’s. She shows the ability to measure items by inches and tell time to the hour. We are counting to work with Alana on her number recognition and formation.
Alana enjoys her friendships with many of the girls in our classroom. He can often be found pushing her friends on the swings on the playground. It has been a delight to work with such a kind child.
